You have booked your Boudoir or Pinup Session, NOW WHAT?

It is the night before your session and the pre-boudoir panic has set in!  You are this close to canceling your session! Every woman who has booked a session with me has been right where you are right now.

At first you’re excited and you’ve booked the appointment…but the moment you put down the phone panic and a million questions went through our head. Most likely, WHAT ON EARTH DID I JUST DO?

First off confidence is the key to success. A confident woman is a beautiful woman, and while you might feel like your probably the only woman in the world that I can’t photography, I promise you I can and you will absolutely love the results.  Here are a few things you can do to rock your shoot and pull out your inner goddess.

1. Choose your outfits carefully

Flowy lingerie, like babydoll negligees, may seem gorgeous on the hanger, but when it comes to your photoshoot you should stay as far away from them as possible. The excess fabric, while it can cover what you do not want seen, that excess fabric can also make you look larger than you are. Also if you bring a bra and panty set, be sure you fill the bra cups with what you got!  It is also important to make sure you are not falling out of the bra either.

2. Don’t survive off lettuce

One of the biggest mistakes that women make when they book a boudoir photoshoot is to starve themselves.  Also, be sure to eat breakfast before your session, we do not want you passing out! Girfriend, just bring me your bad-ass bod and I will show you just how beautiful it is.  You might not think it, but posing is a lot of effort and you’ll be burning calories the whole shoot. Believe me, the last thing you want is to have to end your session early because your blood sugar drops, and you face plant on my floor.

3. Don’t hit the gym to punish yourself

You don’t need to start working out five times a day because you scheduled a photoshoot. It is my job to shoot you in great lighting, angles, and poses. That’s why it’s an artform and you hired me, a professional photographer of 12+ years, instead of that person you saw on Facebook giving you everything for $59.  Take my advice and avoid the drama; I can make you look better than you would after killing yourself for 6 months in the gym.
