1. Drink Tons of H2O

For the week prior to your boudoir photo session be sure to drink plenty of water. This will keep away the bloats and keep your skin looking great!

2. Get enough sleep

Try to get 8+ hours of sleep the night prior to your session – puffy eyes and bags are not sexy!

3. Be sure to get a Mani and Pedi

There is nothing sexy about chipped nails and toes showing in pictures. Also make sure your feet are super clean without any ground in dirt if you are a girl who loves going barefoot! If you do not want to spring for a mani/pedi be sure Fingernails and toenails are tidied up and looking clean. No polish is better than chipped polish. This is easy to overlook! Also, be sure all the dead whitish skin is gone.

4. Don’t do the spray on tan

Spray tans often look orange in photos and it looks streaky 90% of the time and can stain your clothing. This can’t be fixed in Photoshop! I personally dislike a tan of any type. I love natural un-tanned skin. Tan skin of ANY KIND has the possibility of looking orange or red! Do not come if you are sunburned. Please reschedule your shoot!

5. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

Moisturizing will give you a beautiful natural glow and reveal skin that is not dry and flaky. Keep that lotion handy the week before your shoot!

6. Try on your outfits before hand

Please make sure your clothing fits properly! Outfits that do not fit are not attractive in photos. Not everything can be fixed in Photoshop. Please be sure you feel 100% comfortable in the outfits you are bringing. Not every outfit is good for every body type. Please wear outfits that accentuate your figure! 7. Be sure your outfits are wrinkle free!

Wrinkles look horrible in photographs. Bring your outfits on hangers.

8. Practice being naked or wearing little clothing

Getting comfort with our body takes practice. Get familiar with your body, paying particular attention to the parts you love. Walk around your home naked or partially clothed. Appreciate and admire your body from all angles. Focus on the good stuff. I know this sound weird, but it will help make you more comfortable being partially clothed during your shoot.
