I see that title got your attention!
Imagine if you will, it is a beautiful Sunday afternoon and you are catching some rays on your back deck and are scrolling you through you Facebook feed. And something catches your eye and you slow your scroll!
One of your Facebook friends says ““In search of recommendations for a cheap OBGYN. I need to get my yearly exam, but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg, who do you recommend?”
I don’t know about you, but when I read that, my jaw litterly dropped to the floor. WHAT? Girl there is a time to pinch a penny and a time to not! I am not sure about you but when I am sitting there butt naked with nothing on but a paper shirt that is open in front and that oh so lovely paper blanket that is supposed to cover me up while I am waiting for the doctor to come in and shove a cold long speculum in to vajaja, it is a little un-nerving no matter how many times in my life I have done it!
And I don’t know about you, but this is one time in my life I don’ t want to go with the cheapest out there!
I want to know that 1.5 million percent, that without a doubt that I have the best doctor in town. I want to know that my doctor knows what they are doing, has plenty of experience and will treat me with respect and that their instruments are sanitized. Cause let’s face it, we don’t an amateur messing around down there!
Time and time again I see ladies looking for the “cheapest” boudoir photographer. Or someone that won’t cost an arm and a leg. And that just makes me wonder – why are these women are so incredibly comfortable getting close to naked in front of the cheapest boudoir photographer they can find?
Having boudoir portraits done is a very vulnerable experience. If you are going to do this, you want to find a photographer that has tons of experience, and that will treat you with respect. You want someone who is going to provide you with the best and most beautiful pictures you have ever seen of yourself.
I can tell you 100% without a doubt that the ladies who are looking for the cheapest photographer they can find are NOT my clients, nor would I want them to be. I want a client who is going to appreciate all that my years of experience (12 to be exact) and education is going to offer them.
Now don’t get me wrong, I know price is an important factor for nearly everyone, but if you cannot afford it, SAVE FOR IT!
If you find someone who is super cheap, I want you to think about a few things, does this person have my best interests at heart, does this person have insurance to protect me should something horrible happen during my session? Cause let’s face it; accidents happen! Do you know anyone who has used this photographer, did you look at their Google submitted review? Did you check the better business bureau for complaints? Is this person a legal business? Do they use licensed hair and makeup artists and great products? Do their hair and makeup artists ask if you have any allergies before they apply anything your skin? Trust me I have heard some HORROR STORIES!
There are times to go cheap, and this is not one of them!
I have been a photographer since 2007. I have seen every size, every fear, every possible situation there is. I will be the first one to tell you that I AM NOT THE CHEAPEST boudoir photographer. But I am really damn good at what I do, and more importantly: I am really damn good at how I make you FEEL.
